Teresa Sanders Assistant Professor School School of Health Professions Department Physician Assistant Studies Biography Teresa Sanders, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant (PA) who earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Louisiana State University. She then moved to the Dallas area where she completed teacher certification training and spent four years teaching 9th and 10th grade science. She went on to attended UT Southwestern's Physician Assistant Program and completed her training in 2011. Following graduation, Teresa has worked clinically in family medicine, urgent care, and medical oncology. Prior to joining the faculty at UT Southwestern's PA program, she worked at UT Southwestern's Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. During her time with Simmons Cancer Center, Teresa was a contributing author for a PANCE/PANRE review book, and has presented at a national PA conference as an invited speaker and panel participant with expertise in advanced prostate cancer treatment. In addition, she served as lead genitourinary oncology preceptor for their Advanced Practice Provider Oncology Fellowship Program and has been involved in training newly hired Advanced Practice Providers in the Cancer Center. Teresa is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates and the Physician Assistant Education Association. She is passionate about advancing healthcare education and is honored to have joined the faculty at UT Southwestern's PA program. Her goal is to inspire and educate the next generation of PAs, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in patient care and advocacy.
